I took a basket full of resource books, lots of yarn, needles, graph paper, supplies and of course, beads with us on our vacation camping and fishing trip in June. Fishing on Crescent Lake is usually over by the afternoon so I had lots of time to create, relax and knit. The last 2 designs created in the prior years have proven very successful so I figured why stop now?!

Crescent Lake Shawl is a top down design starting with a knitted border which transitions into the body stitch pattern forming a half circle. Add a choice of 2 lace knit on edgings and your choice of how much “bling” (beads) to use or not.

Charts and Written row by row instructions are included as well as some photo tutorials for the m3 stitch and knit on border.

Measurements depend greatly on needle choice as well as yarn weight. I will update measurements as I get more examples to give a range:
Small measures: 58” x 19” (lace weight on #4)
Small measures: 60” x 20” (lace weight on #5)
Medium measures: 60” x 24” (light fingering on #4)
Medium measures: 56 x 22” (lace weight on #4)
Medium measures: 55” x 25” (heavy lace on #4)
Large measures: 62” x 28” (light fingering on #4)
Large measures: 66” x 29” (heavy fingering on #4)

If you choose to use a contrasting border, the body of the shawl uses 80% of the yarn and border 20% (figured for the larger Edging Two).
