This fading garter stitch and lace crescent shawl was designed by my mother and me. My birthday often falls on the Victoria Day long weekend and last year we went camping. On the way to the park we stopped at a lovely yarn shop and I was handed an envelope of cash (because she is the best mom in the world). At the shop we both fell in love with Koigu Painter’s Palette and we left with a bag full of Koigu in tow. We spent the weekend sitting by the water, drinking tea and dreaming up this shawl then making it a reality. We hope you enjoy.

This pattern is written for five different colours of Koigu Painter’s Palette and features soft fades from one colour into the next. As such, the instructions are written for this specific yarn, if you chose to use different yarns with varying skein weights you may need to use some intuition when weighing your skeins to calculate the amount needed for your fades and bind off.
