This pattern is available for FREE on my blog or you can purchase the ad-free, large print PDF.
The Crescent Moon Blanket is a corner to corner (C2C) afghan pattern that is an easy/intermediate level pattern because of the moon’s swirls. But, the graphs and written line-by-line instructions for this pattern with the swirls removed are also included for an easy level pattern.
It’s also reversible, showing a mirror image of the graph. This crochet pattern would be perfect for any child this holiday season. And, hey, some adults would love this blanket as well.
The border is made up of half double crochets and is completely optional. You can choose no border or to create a border of your own with a different stitch.
This graph will work with any form of corner to corner such as mini C2C and it would also work with cross stitch or any other craft that requires a graph. Just know that if you use mini C2C, your finished blanket will be smaller than the example.
When you purchase the pattern, you will get a copy of the main instructions, all 10 graphs (5 for the Main Graph and 5 for the easier Alternate Graph), and the written line-by-line instructions for both versions of the graph. That’s 3 PDF’s total.
An example of line-by-line instructions is as follows: B stands for black, N stands for navy and Y stands for yellow. The pattern would read: Row 14: 3N, 5B, 2Y, 4N. You would need to work 3 navy blocks, 5 black blocks, 2 yellow blocks and then finally 4 navy blocks for this row.
The written instructions keep you from having to count blocks on the graph.
The finished measurements of the blanket done in standard C2C is 37” Width x 57” Length without border and 41” Width x 61” Length with border. You will use 5 colors for the Easy/Intermediate pattern with swirls and only 4 colors for the easier no swirls version.
This pattern is written in standard American crochet terms.
