The pattern gives written instructions and a step by step photo guide for an adult hat using an 8mm hook and chunky/bulky yarn. I used one skein, 110m in length.

A child sized hat can be achieved using a 5.5mm hook and DK/worsted weight yarn.

The pattern is written using US terminology but a quick pattern guide is also included using UK terms. You will need to know how to do basic crochet stitches (ch, sc, dc - US terms and ch, dc, tr - UK terms as well as front post/back post stitches).

Guidance is also included on how to make the hat more or less slouchy.
