Crikey!
THIS IS A KNITTING PATTERN, NOT SOCKS. Please read the pattern description.
Pattern was previously written with the use of Double Pointed Needles in mind. I’ve since gone through and edited the pattern so that it is hopefully written for all needle types of knitters!
After my Catch of the Day fish sock design, my brother demanded that I come up with more animal sock patterns! So as to not disappoint, I used his favorite color as inspiration. Such was born the crocodile.
Crikey! has a continuous textured stitch pattern across the body, designed to mimic a crocodile’s skin, raised eyes, nose bobbles, a gapping maw, and arms and legs! If you desire a sock that is wearable in shoes, you can follow the instructions for extending the leg length, and sew the back legs high enough to avoid the heel.
In the pattern you will find all knit instructions, as well as a pattern for the crocodile teeth, and instructions how to sew the buttons on to mimic pupils. The pattern is very detailed and has 21 pages! I hope you’ll find everything you’ll need in it.
Any sock weight yarn would be great for this pattern! A variegated green yarn is especially fabulous for this pattern, but any green yarn will work, or, if you’re feeling whimsical, pick a non green yarn.

Note: 20% of all patterns purchased before 5/30/2021 at 2:15 PM PST were donated to Steve Irwin’s charity, Wildlife Warriors. The screenshot is attached as the last photo of this pattern, attached to it is the Ravelry sales chart which shows earnings. The actual percentage calculated was $49.90, I rounded up. Sadly, I received some unhappy messages regarding the wording on the original donation note, and the percentage I chose to donate. Because of this, I decided to discontinue the donations. No percentage of further earnings on this pattern will be donated.
