This is an easy pattern, suitable even for most crocheters, even an adventurous beginner. It uses widely available worsted weight yarn. It works up quickly, a nice pattern for last minute gifts. The neck warmer size uses only one skein of yarn (about 200 yards).

The cowl is crocheted in an interesting basket weave pattern. It is a versatile pattern and can be used to make a small neck warmer or a long cowl.
