This tutorial contains a detailed pattern of crochet Beaver and Nutria Nutria (or Muskrat, Capybara, Marmot, Otter, Gopher). They differ only in their tail.

You can crochet a toy from any yarn, but you will have to choose the size of hook, eyes and nose.

The pattern does not contain basic course of crocheting – you should already have the basic knowledge!

To crochet you need:

  • plush yarn Himalaya Dolphin Baby or analogues (100% polyester, 100g/120 mt or 3,53 oz/131 yrds):
    • brown – 1 skein (№80337 Himalaya Dolphin Baby);
    • dark brown – quite a bit for the beaver’s tail (№80336 Himalaya Dolphin Baby);
  • 4 mm hook / US size G ;
  • a little black and white fine yarn 50 g/200 mt or 1.76 oz/218 yrds and 2mm hook;
  • strong brown thread for tightening the muzzle (you can use black yarn);
  • 12 mm safety black eyes;
  • safety black nose 1813mm;
  • fiberfiller;
  • scissors;
  • stitch markers, needles or pins for fixing parts when sewing (desirable);
  • white and black sewing thread for sewing teeth;
  • sewing needle and yarn needle (with a blunt end and large eye).
