Crochet Bird Nest
This is a pattern for nests used by vet offices and wildlife rescues for orphaned baby birds.
I used two strands of worsted weight yarn with a size K hook, which make a small nest about the size of an orange. You can use any gauge, as long as it gets you tight stitches and structure to your fabric.
These should be made out of washable yarns or felted, since they will need to be washed multiple times. Larger sizes (acorn squash/pineapple sized) nests are great in the case of a multi-bird nest or large baby, so feel free to use your bulky.
If you need help finding a place to send these, please pm me.
Note: Please do not attempt to care for an orphaned baby bird by yourself unless you are an experienced professional. These nests are for use by wildlife rescue facilities.
