My son had an empty wall in his bedroom, so I decided to make him something.
My first idea was to make him a mobile of birds, because he loves birds. But then, coincidentally, I found a coat rack shaped like birdhouses in a round shop.
So I hung the birds on there and voila! My son was happy!

The birds are very easy to make, it’s a perfect pattern for beginners.

The yarn I used is Catania, but you can use any yarn you like, in any color you like. If you do use Catania and hook size 2 (UK 14, US B/1), one bird will be about 10cm in length.
You’ll need one skein of Catania for 5 birds, but it’s more fun to change color and make up color designs of your own.
The birds are actually a great way to use up scraps!

Note: this is a pattern only, so no birdhouse included! If you can’t find one, you can also take a normal coat rack and paint some birdhouses on them. Or you take some sticks, bind them together and hang the birds on there.
You can do so much fun things with just a little imagination!

The pattern is available in Dutch and English, in my Etsy store.
