Crochet Chrysanthemum Brooch
This is a very detailed pattern for a classical Irish crochet Chrysanthemum flower. A private crochet-along youtube video is also available on request after purchase.
The crochet chrysanthemum pattern is absolutely fabulous when completed.
It works beautifully as a stand-alone item such as a brooch, a hairpiece or can be easily incorporated into a larger crochet project such as a blouse or a dress. Click HERE for some ideas.
The flower can be made in any colour and size – everything depends on the size of the hook and yarn used.
Note about the thread and hook size.
The Chrysanthemum will look its best if made with a small hook such as 0.6mm and very fine thread, such as Retors d’Alsace N8 (not sure if it’s still sold) or Pearl Cotton N8 both from DMC, or an equivalent.
The fine thread and hook give the finished item a very neat look. Plus over time the petals don’t start drooping which can happen when a heavier thread is used.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’ve got any questions.
