I made my blanket 15 by 15 squares wide with a 4cm edging. 15 squares took about 140g of yarn. Each square is 14cm diameter. I used a different colour for the last row so that the circles stand out from the squares.

The instructions are as simple as possible and I have given a chart of the equivalent American and French crochet terms although the pattern itself is not translated.

Stitches used are basic. This pattern is suitable for a beginner.
