These mitts are knit using tapestry crochet colorwork. The strands between stitches are enclosed within the stitches of the opposite color, so there are no floats on the inside. When you drop a color for several rows, you can leave it hanging and pick it up without cutting several rows up to reduce the number of ends to be woven in at the end.
