Hi everyone! Looking for a creative gift for your favorite band nerd?

This is the first crochet pattern I ever wrote… about 3-4 years ago, and I no longer have the finished product (gave it as a gift), nor do I feel the need to make one. So I’m just publishing this for free to share it with the world and perhaps get some constructive feedback on my pattern-writing.

I tried to make it as detailed and not-confusing as possible, but looking back on it i’m not sure how well I accomplished that job. I also forgot to make a gauge and list the finished measurements, but I remember it being around 6-7 inches long x 5 inches tall.

As for the gauge, just crochet tightly so that everything stays sturdy and the stuffing doesn’t show through, and you’ll be right as rain. The one listed here isn’t the real one, i only put it because Ravelry made me.

I wrote down the pattern exactly as I crocheted the item, but if I could have done anything differently it would have been the way I started the bell. I wouldn’t have done it so bluntly (1 inc in every st), but instead would have maybe started more gradually (1 inc in every other st) but the finished product still turned out very cute so you can do with that info what you will. If you feel comfortable changing up the pattern then by all means, do so. If you stick to it, no worries there either!

I’d love to see pictures of you guys’ finished products as well as suggestions for what I could do differently next time I write a pattern. Super long winded for a pattern description, but I’m looking forward to seeing what my friends here on Ravelry will do with it!
