This pattern now includes instructions for hat with or without brim.

This pattern has been tested and every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy. Hat is crocheted with 2 strands of WW yarn held together. You will need a size J (6 mm) and an L (8 mm) hooks. I would say that this is an advanced beginner project and should take approximately 2 hours to complete the first time. Experience working in the round is helpful. I used yarn scraps so I can’t, at this time, attest as to how many yards you will need. There are endless possibilities in terms of how many colors to use.
