Crochet Hat with Lace Brim
This pattern is
available for free.
Here is a pretty crochet hat for end-of-summer wear, or, with a little adapting, a similar one could be made in wool.
The crown is done in close rows of double crochet, so that the work is quite solid, while the wide brim is in a lacy stitch. They are made separately and joined later, so the brim can be tilted to a becoming angle.
Materials: Two balls No. 6 pearl crochet cotton, 1½ yards of 2 in. velvet ribbon, 1 yd. hat wire and steel crochet hook.
