Should you prefer to make this in a regular SC or even HDC, easily done, just work stitches as usual and not as instructed. All numbers remain the same.

Hat and Cowl also works well for Men and Boys.

Requires 2 sizes of Crochet Hook: 8 mm - USA L / 11 - Britain 0 AND 10 mm - USA N / 15 - Britain 000. One 14 oz / 400 gr big ball of Bernat Chunky # 5 is more than enough to make this set, even if you were to make the Cowl larger. A softer yarn is recommended.
