These are cute egg Cozies, the original Mama Hen Cozies pattern is for a knit version and available through Red Heart Yarns. I decided to write a crochet version for a few friends who prefer to crochet and really liked the original knit version I made.

This project can be made using worsted weight or bulky yarns. I have made a few dozen of these egg Cozies using worsted weight yarns of several types, bulky yarns, and even fur yarns (fun fur,cello). When crocheting these hens with the fur yarns, I used a strand of regular worsted weight at the same time.

These are great for keeping soft boiled eggs warm or tucking some plastic Easter eggs filled with surprises and placed in baskets. The Cozies would make nice table or countertop decorations, also.
