This is a summary of available information on how to crochet a pouch for rescued orphaned and injured wildlife, particularly following the Australian bushfires of November 2019.

EDITED TO ADD: Three full crochet patterns have now been added to the original PDF instructions, using different stitches to create a marsupial pouch. All three patterns are suitable for beginner crocheters.

If you can crochet, there are a number of individuals and organisations taking these donated pouches. Jacqui Fink of the Facebook page “Little Dandelion” is currently collecting and distributing the finished pouches, to make sure they get to where they are in most need at any time.
