I love the look of the blue triangle and diagonal red and white stripes to represent the flag. It works so well for a placemat, and there is no worry of being disrespectful to the flag this way. I made a similar knit pattern a while back, and had quite a few requests for a crochet version. I had to find just the right stitch for it, and the linen stitch fit the bill. This pattern is part of the Jessie At Home Patriotic CAL/KAL.
