This super easy crochet rosary or prayer bead pattern only uses chain and SC stitches. I designed it myself when my ‘puff’ or ‘popcorn’ stitches never came out right. After completing the simple cross pattern, it is just a long chain that you tie into knots to make the beads. I try to size it so it can fit over the head and be worn as a necklace if desired. It works up very quickly (30 minutes or so) but makes a wonderful gift, and if done in black or camo, qualifies for military use (makes no noise.)

I use an F (3.75 mm) crochet hook and any fairly stiff worsted yarn (acrylic or wool or cotton) - the super soft ‘baby’ yarns will make the cross too floppy.

It takes less than 10 yards of yarn so it’s a good way to use up your stash
