I wanted a cupped and spiked look for the petal and easy to construct, a rose that looks like a rose. For the one piece triple petal, I wanted a thicker leaf vein and a faster way to make 3 leaves, so I came up with the one piece with 3 petals. All in all both are easy and quick to make and they look good too.
