This is a scarf and hat set. The scarf is worked in a shell pattern and is in stripes of 3 colors. The beret is a solid color.
Hook sizes:
Scarf: Size I
* uses sport yarn
Beret: Size J
* uses worsted weight
Gauge:
Scarf: 3 shells = 2 1/2 inches, 7 rows = 4 inches
* shell = 3 dc
Beret: 5 hdc with ch1 between = 2 inches, 7 rnds = 2 1/2 inches

2, 2 oz. skeins each of:
White, Navy, Paddy Green
Beret:
1, 4 oz. skein of Paddy Green
The scarf is worked flat and the beret is worked in the round, from the top, down.
Beret size based on stitch count of 40 (hdc, ch1) spaces after decreasing from widest circumference, to fit head.
