Crochet Winter Hat, a Unisex Crochet pattern
You know that ball of yarn you always have when your done making a sweater or scarf? It’s not enough for another project so it goes into that scrap pile never to be used. This project is a beginner friendly hat that uses any DK or Worsted Weight yarn to make a hat, 1 ball for a women or kids hat and 2 balls for a men’s hat.
Hook size determines the hat size-
Size G/4.0 MM for Child
Size H/5.0 MM for Women
Size J/6.0 MM for Men
Yarn Amounts and types:
YARN: Children’s hat take 100g/3.5oz or 210y/192m or less. Adult hats take 200g/7oz or 420 y/384m or less. Brown hat is made of one ball of Berroco Remix. Green stripped hat is made with Berroco Softyak DK. The red and blue hat and the brown, mustard and orange were made with Patons Classic Wool Original. This pattern is very forgiving, and I make it with all my leftover balls of DK or Worsted Weight yarn and have yet to have an issue with size
