This pattern includes instructions for both the coasters and the hot pad. Each coaster uses about 13 yards of yarn and each side of the hot pad (there are 2) uses about 26 yards. A few extra yards of the solid color yarn are required to join the 2 sides of the hot pad motifs together.

It is recommended to use cotton yarn for this project, especially for the hot pad. Synthetic yarns will react to hot items placed upon them.
