This pattern is based on the original knitted knocker - crocheted version, however this one features a side opening, rather than a bottom opening and a slightly concave bottom. Fingering or sport weight 100% cotton is preferred, a cotton blend is acceptable if it is very soft. Remember, these are worn against very sensitive skin and as such no animal fibers should be used due to possible allergens.
