Crocheted Patchwork Cat Blanket
Cats have a real affinity for blankets. As soon as I laid this finished piece on the floor for a photo, our cat, Teddy, immediately wandered over and claimed it! Cat blankets make great gifts for cats and cat owners alike. Place one in your cat’s bed or on his or her favorite napping spot (the end of your bed, the arm of the sofa, etc.) for extra comfort. It’ll also help keep cat hair off the furniture!
I crocheted this blanket in a soft, machine-washable wool/acrylic blend yarn. I chose a bright, springy color combination of yellow, light green, and light blue and worked them into a quilt-like patchwork design. The pattern is not particularly difficult, but you’ll need to keep up with stitch counts every row to make sure the panels come out evenly. When finished, this blanket has a slight diamond shape; you can block it into a square if you prefer.
