Crocheted "Pottery"
Uses 2 strands of string weight thread held together and a No 3 steel hook.
Uses cardboard to form and a thick cooked starch of a jell-like consistency to stiffen. Then it’s shellacked with 2-4 coats.
Plate with swirled rim uses 350 yards and measures 9.5 inches across
Oval basket is 4.5 inches high and 5.5 inches across. Uses 300 yards of string weight cotton and 18 inches of baling wire.
Candy plate with handle uses 150 yards of string weight cotton, 13” of baling wire and No 3 and No 4 steel hook. The plate is 8 inches across.
Deep dish with lace rim is 7 inches across and 2.5 inches deep. Uses 150 yards of string weight thread and a No 3 hook.
