Crocheted set for 'Precious Angels'
I designed this pattern with a local charity in mind. Gowns for Precious Angels UK make burial gowns and layettes for babies from donated wedding dresses, and accept donations of knitted and crocheted items for the packs.
I have designed three sizes of blanket and four sizes of hat ranging from tiny preemie to newborn sizes, I have tried to make the patterns simple but pretty, and if you aren’t comfortable with the lace edgings, the blankets will still be suitable without. This is a good opportunity to use up odd skeins and scraps of pastel coloured DK yarn. One ball of basic acrylic 100g/300m yarn should be enough to work the smaller size of blanket, the largest two sizes may require some extra.
The blanket and hat are both worked flat with a small amount of seamiing. The pattern uses moss stitch and yarn overs for the lace edging. It is suitable for confident beginners.
