Gauge is not essential, but will determine overall size of your skate.

You will need small amounts of yarn in at least 4 different colors.
I used white for the boot, black for the sole and heel, grey for the plate, green for the wheels and toe stopper, and purple for the laces. I used a combination of Red Heart Super Saver and I Love This Yarn.
