The stitches for the gauge for this pattern refers to the number of Crocodile Stitches per inch, and the number of rows of Crocodile Stitch Rows per inch. Gauge is not terribly crucial for this project.

When making your foundation chain I recommend using a hook one to two sizes larger than the hook size suggested for the yarn you’re planning to use. You can also use a foundation single crochet instead of a plain chain if you want to make sure that it’s stretchy enough to fit over your head and drape around your neck.

The colorway used for this cowl is Gaslamp #418 in Manos Del Uruguay Fino. This is a single spun yarn and can be grabby, so be careful if you have rip back. Don’t pull too hard if it catches itself or you’ll have to spit splice.
