Yarn
I used The Fibre Co.’s Road to China Light (65% baby alpaca, 10% cashmere 15% silk 159 yards/50 grams) Sport Weight
2 ( 2, 2, 3 ) skeins Lapis, 1 ( 1, 1, 1 ) skein Smoky Quartz, 1 ( 1, 1, 1 ) skein Dragonfly or approx. 10-25 yds. of yarn you may already own.
The pattern is written for a Sport Weight however, it is possible to substitute worsted weight yarn for sport weight. See MEASUREMENTS.
Supplies Needed
Tape measure
Tapestry Needle
Stitch Markers
Needles - # 5 needle, 9 inch would be more comfortable but 12 inch is fine
Gauge- SPORT WEIGHT 24 stitches = 4” square in Stockinette Stitch using a #5 needle This pattern will “shrink” a bit when knit in the RIB and the STITCH PATTERN and be closer to 28 sts. per 4 inches
MEASUREMENTS/SIZES
Width 4.5” 6” 7” 9”
Length 54” 54” 54” 54”
Stitches 38 44” 56 68
If you would like to use a WORSTED WEIGHT yarn rather than sport weight, cast on the smallest size (38 sts.) using a #8 needle. This will yield a scarf approximately 7” wide. All other measurements (length)will be the same. Play around with it and have fun!
