In 2013, someone on a crochet forum, I really don’t remember which one, was looking for a Granny square with a cross in the middle and had not been able to find one. I got to wondering how that could be accomplished, played with it and got it written up. I posted it on Ravelry without much fanfare… over the years it has had some likes, a few projects with pictures and some nice comments. I thought it was time to give it an update and see if I can improve the experience for those wanting to create the square. It can be used as a motif for an Afghan or on it’s own as a “prayer square.” I hope you enjoy the pattern!
