Sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL).
To fit a cross back (shoulder tip to shoulder tip) of: 37.5 (38.5, 40.5, 42.5, 44.5, 45.5, 46.5) cm
Measurements:
Width (including side edging):
Approximately 44 (45.5, 47, 50, 51, 53, 55.5) cm.
Total length from mid back (excluding the neck):
Approximately 58 (58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 62) cm.
(These measurements concern the finished work NOT the person wearing it)
Recommended needles:
4.5mm, 5mm, and 6mm circular needles, 80-100 cm long.
4mm, 4.5mm, and 5mm short circular needles or dpns (for neck edging).
7mm dpn for binding off scalloped edge.
Yarn:
Garn studio Drops Air (color, heather no.14)
(Content: 65% Alpaca, 28% Polyamide, 7% Wool. Weight/Length: 50gm= Approx. 150m)
Garn studio Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk (color, heather no.08)
(Content: 77% alpaca, 23% silk. Weight/Length: 25gm= Approx. 140m)
Amount of yarn used:
Drops Air: 200 (200-250, 250, 250-300, 300, 300, 300-350) gms
Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk: 100 (100-125, 125, 125-150, 150, 150, 150-175) gms
Gauge/Tension (Blocked):
14 sts x 24 rows in garter stitch with both yarns on 6mm needles = 10cm x 10cm
(Take your time to get correct stitch AND row/round gauge. You might change needles size to get the correct gauge)
Crossandra Vest is knitted top down, starting with the back piece which is worked back and forth (while shaping with short rows) till it’s finished. After that sts are picked up across the shoulders to form the front piece till it’s finished. Finally, neck, side edging and side ties are knitted.
Please note that any change in gauge or switching to yarn of different composition might not give you the same finished measurements or finished look.
