Crosses
Crosses is a square motif designed for the 2018 Friends Around the World CAL. It has texture and works well in one or more colours - the samples shown each use 2 colours.
Crosses also works well with Noughts!
It was designed for aran weight yarn but any weight could be used.
The aran weight yarn used in the sample is Find me Knitting, Mary - 100g/210m per cake. Using a 5mm hook, the finished size is 30cm/12” square but it is a flexible design where you can add or remove rounds to get the size you want.
A sample was made in DK yarn, in this case Yarns from the Plain Plumley 100g/200m per skein and NDS Godiva DK 100g/220m per skein, both single spun merino yarns. A 4mm hook was used for this square and the resultant size was 25cm/10” square.
There are 2 patterns on the file - one in UK terms and one in US terms - please make sure you select the correct version.
Check out the 2018 Friends Around the World CAL blog here. You will find lots of useful information, including links to all patterns as they are published. Important note for all Friends Around the World CALers: once you have completed Crosses (which includes 3 rounds of border that I designed) you must then add the extra 3 rounds of border from the Friends Around the World Blog post.
