Crosshatch is a gorgeous shawl that is all about texture! The triangular shape begins at the small point and increases sideways toward the wide border. Pairing crisp and easy slipped stitches with simple flowing cables creates the most fascinating and amazing texture.
Four Purls Yarn Shop has put together some amazing kits here.
Yarn: Emma’s Yarn Drapey DK (70% Superwash Merino/30% silk, 231yards/100grams)
Main Color (MC): July ‘21 460 yards (multi orange & pink)
Coordinating Color (CC): Barkin’ Up the Wrong Tree 220 Yards (grey)
Needles: US 7/4.5mm circular needles
Notions: Stitch Marker, T-pins and blocking wires for blocking
Gauge: 24 stitches = 4 inches in Crosshatch(slip stitch) after a gentle blocking. Although gauge is not crucial for this project, it will affect the finished size and yarn requirements. A looser gauge will result in the use of more yarn.
Finished size: 38” x 50” x 64” after blocking. (can be blocked bigger)
The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts and also includes charts.
Pattern includes instructions on 1/1 cabling without a needle. Feel free to use a cable needle if you prefer, I just like introducing new skills and techniques.
