Fingering weight yarn is held double to make the textured pattern on these warm squishy mitts. Use two strands of the same colour for a subtle textured mitt or choose contrasting colours for a bold statement. The mitts knit up quickly, ideal for a last-minute gift.

The mitts are intended to be worn with slight negative ease, to fit a medium sized woman’s hand (approx 7 to 7.5” around the palm).
Pattern gauge is 22 st and 28 rows over 4 inches on 4mm (US 6) needles using the doubled fingering weight yarn.

You will need approx. 90 yards of each of two different colours of fingering weight yarn (or 180 yards, split into two balls, of one colour), 4mm needles (or sized needed to obtain gauge) for working in the round, and 2 stitch markers.

You need to be able to work in the round over a small diameter, work increases and pick up stitches.
