Crosswalk Pillows
These geometric throw pillows are a fun way to spruce up any room in your house. The Shetland wool in this project adds a rustic charm that balances the modern design. Easy color changes and simple stitches make this a great beginner project.

Finished Size Square pillow: 16” square; rectangle pillow: 12” wide and 16” tall.
Yarn Jamieson’s Double Knitting (distributed by Simply Shetland (100% Shetland wool); 82 yd 75 m/7⁄8 oz 25 g): #688 mermaid (B), 6 balls; #126 charcoal (A), 5 balls; #315 heron (C), 2 balls.
Hook Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions Yarn needle; 16” square pillow form, 1; 12” × 16” rectangle pillow form, 1.
Gauge 18 sts and 16 rows = 4” in patt.

NOTES

Each pillow front consists of two panels with the second panel being worked in the row-ends of the first panel. Pillow backs are worked separately in rows and joined to the fronts with single crochet.

Single crochet in both loops of first and last stitches; single crochet in back loop only of each remaining stitch across.

To change colors, work to last yarnover of stitch in old color, pick up new color, and complete stitch with new color. Fasten off nonworking color only after a color block is complete.

Weave in ends as work progresses.
