When I originally designed this hat I used Alpine Chenille yarn but i have tested my pattern using Big Twist yarn and it worked perfectly fine measurements wise. therefore i have included the gauge for both yarns in case you needed to make any adjustments.

skill level; advanced beginner
skills needed; single crochet, half double crochet, chains, half double crochet through back loops…
i have added some closeup pictures of the tricky parts of the pattern.
