Crown Of Thorns Fun Facts

Euphorbia Milii is also known as the crown of thorns, Christ plant, or Christ thorn. It’s a species of flowering plant in the spurge family Euphorbiaceae, Native to
Madagascar.

Interesting varieties: Brush Fire, Creme Supreme, Short and Sweet, California Hybrids, Thai Giants

The species’ name commemorates Baron Milius, once governor of Réunion, who introduced the species to France in 1821.

The Crown of Thorns are sun lovers and blooms most of the year.

While red is the original color, Crown of Thorns also grows in a variety of colors, including cream, pink and other bi-colors.

Denoting sin, sorrow, and hardship, the thorn itself is one of the most ancient symbols in the world; together with the rose, it represents pain and pleasure, and the thorn is also an emblem of Christ’s passion, as with the crown of thorns.
