Crown Street
Crown Street is a 12” afghan square inspired by the pattern on the tiles around a vintage fireplace. There are a variety of techniques used to achieve a close copy of the original, which make for a novel and interesting project. A floral centre is surrounded by four sideways worked flaps, which are secured by crochet buttons. The central motif is then enclosed by a geometric border.
The square was designed specially for the 2021 BAMCAL and round by round photos and help will be available there.
Thanks to super helpful testers Berniece, Joanna, Joyce, Lynne and Robin.
NB. The flap tips will look better and more like the original if the dcs in round 20 and the trs in Round 21 are stitched BLO. I’ve only just noticed this and will update the file later.
