About

Summers seemed to dotted with the pink and purple flowers of Crown vetch. There are almost fields of them near our local lake that we spend a lot of time. Also known as a seed or purple crown-vetch, it is part of the pea or legume family. While these flowers are beautiful, they are an invasive species where it outcompetes native plants and prove to be detrimental to habitat diversity and health. These socks are to remind us to only wear Crown vetch on your feet and to clean your shoes to help prevent the spread of invasive plants.

These socks are constructed toe up with a circular cast on and round toe construction. The heel is constructed using shadow wrap technique. The main stitch pattern for the sock is derived from either the star or daisy stitch. There are two cuff options. The main cuff is made through cross stitch ribbing. Instructions to construct a heel tab are included. You can substitute your favorite toe, heel, or cuff construction as you desire.

A sock worksheet is included at the end to help with sock measurements.
