It’s a great beginner pattern with common abbreviations and clear directions. No more than 200 yards of worsted weight wool are needed for your project.

I’ve updated the pattern to use a size US/6 16 inch needle for the initial cast on and brim. I have received some feedback that the brim can stretch a bit during wear, so the smaller needle size should help to make it a bit more snug, but allow for enough stretch to be comfortable.

If you are interested in buying the personal pattern, you may knit this hat only for yourself, for charity or as gifts. Items made from the personal pattern may not be sold or traded.
