Knit along as the seasons change and a wine is produced. Begin with the earth and vines in winter, spring leaf and bud break, grapes appearing in summer, fall harvest and making of the wine, and finish up with aging and enjoying. This flowing wrap is knit in a luxurious yarn with wonderful drape. Glistening beads add just a touch of sparkle and weight for lovely flowing movement.

One size: 20” x 93” (50 x 235 cm) including fringe

Yarn: Heavy lace weight, 1320 yds
Shown in Abstract Fiber Vines in sage, 660 yds / 4 oz., 2 skeins

Gauge: 21 sts & 28 rows / 4” (10 cm) average over pattern stitches after blocking using US 2-5 (2.5-3.75 mm). Each pattern may have slight gauge differences; block the shawl to even it out to average gauge.
Gauge is not critical for this project; a different gauge will yield a different size and have different yarn requirements.

Notions: stitch markers, extra needle in same size as working needle, stitch holder or waste yarn (optional), 650 size 8 round or hexagonal beads (beads should slide freely on yarn held doubled), tiny crochet hook (1mm) for placing beads

This pattern is part of Northwest Knits & Eats available in print and e-book formats. Patterns in the book are Coast shawl, Crush shawl, Double Barrel socks, Grist sweater, Piece o’ Cake hat + mittens, and Vertical sweater.
