These colorful placemats take their inspiration from the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens, part of the Portland Parks system. Beginning in early spring and continuing into summer, the over 2,500 rhododendrons, azaleas, and companion plants in the garden provide a magnificent display of color, giving visitors the opportunity to view many varieties rarely seen in the Pacific Northwest. Stroll through the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden park, then settle down with these colorful placemats for a lovely picnic!

Yarn
(6) balls, (2) each color Fiber Rhythm’s Creekside Cotton (100% Cotton, 180 yards/1.75 oz). Hand dyed by Art by Eve. Yardage needed for (2) placemats: Color A: Teal, 190 yards; Color B: Rose, 210 yards; Color C: Purple, 240 yards.

Gauge
27 stitches and 45 rows in diagonal slipped stitch pattern = 4 inches.

Please note this is a stretchy textured stitch pattern. Measure your gauge with the swatch at rest and not overly stretched. This item is not overly dependent on gauge.
