The yarn used for this pattern is Caron Crystal Cakes yarn, which is available for a limited time only. So if you are not able to find it for this pattern, any other heavier worsted weight yarn would be a great substitution.

This cowl is started using the Foundation Single Crochet and then worked in the round. If you prefer, you can begin your project using a starting chain and single crochet across. This will have the same affect, however be sure to make your starting chain fairly loose.

This pattern is joined in a way that allows for the cowl to have a twist and sit comfortably and stylishly around your neck. Therefore, you will be crocheting two sides of the cowl simultaneously and your number of stitches will double beginning at Row 2.
