Crystalline Mitts
by Anna Elliott
The mittens are worked from the cuff up with a three needle cast-off at the top and an afterthought thumb. For the colourwork, you will need to read a chart. The chart is read in the same direction as you
knit – start in the bottom-right hand corner and read each row
from right to left. Each square represents one stitch. If you are making the mittens with a wool yarn or one without the cotton content, you might find that changing to a larger needle after the rib is more
comfortable to work with and produces a more flexible fabric.
