CSM Decorative Headband
This is the step by step checklist for a headband with a variety of finishing techniques and an optional crochet embellishment made with the assistance of a circular sock machine (CSM). It has blanks to fill in with your own choice of numbers for the cylinder size, the tension, optional mock rib, and the tube length.
This checklist assumes:
- You use a bonnet for set up. (If you don’t, just prep your waste yarn using your chosen method.)
- You have a standard start point on your cylinder to begin and end each round (I use the 3 o’clock position at my right half mark).
Fill in the blanks to make headband to fit your personal tastes:
- Fill in who the headband is for or the intended size.
- Use the cylinder and tension of your choice to make the circumference of the headband desired.
- Make the length to fit the intended recipient.
Print a checklist every time you make a headband and you will never forget a step! Patterns can also be laminated or put in sheet protectors and then used with wet or dry erase markers.
The samples were knit on an Erlbacher Speedster in Knit Picks Stroll Fingering in a variety of colors.
This pattern is part of The CSM Cookbook Volume Two: Fusion Recipes, an ebook that includes 6 patterns as well as bonus sizing charts.
