CSM sock sweater
Anyone who can make a sock on the CSM can knit these sweater pieces. The yoke is four heels with regular circular knitting in between. The sleeves and body panels are tubes. The machine knitting took five hours. The only trick here is maintaining the tension to keep stitches from dropping. I had three on the yoke that dropped down and I had to latch back up and at least six others I caught right away. You will drop stitches! No big deal just be prepared to latch them up before moving on.
The recommended yarn is perfect for this project. It’s strong, there is a lot of tugging needed when making the yoke. It’s fluffy, so it doesn’t appear holey at a loose gauge. The alpaca is also clingy and doesn’t immediately race down when you drop a stitch. I used my hands rather than the V hook when making the heels/corners.
This pattern is written only for a women’s size large. I’ve included finished dimensions.
I would take the measurements with a grain of salt. The measurements are off the body and the tubes are joined horizontally. Which means the stretch is across the body. Plus the sleeves are a drop shoulder which creates a larger non structured sleeve hole. The sweater made as is should fit a range of bodies.
