Cuddle Up Throw & Scarf
Cuddle Up is an easy and fun to knit throw or scarf. Simply; two strands of two different yarns are held together in mistake ribbing. There’s only one pattern row; every row is the same. Both pieces use a bulky, hand painted mohair stranded with a self striping, worsted wool which together make a lofty and cozy fabric. These make great gifts!
Finished Measurements:
scarf 8” x 78” (standard throw 38” x 47”, blanket 48”x 60”) this is a very stretchy fabric, pictured above in the throw size
Materials:
Berroco Artesia (40% alpaca, 40% kid mohair, 20% nylon; 475 yds ea) -1 (2, 3 ) balls, Morning Glory 4801
Berroco Pixel (100% superwash wool; 328 yds ea) -1 (3, 5) balls, Peach 2257 OR Pistachio 2261 (shown in scarf)
Needles: US #13 circular 24” or longer
Gauge: 3.25 sts/in and 4.5 rows/in on #13 in Mistake Rib Stitch with one strand of each yarn held together. Exact gauge is difficult to measure in a stretch fabric. Lay your swatch flat and flatten the rib slightly to measure.
Mistake Rib Stitch: knit 2, purl 2, over an odd number of stitches. This pattern uses a multiple of 4 +1 stitches which creates the “mistake” effect with each row ending with a knit 1.
