Cuffed Fingerless Gloves
This is an easy pattern with beautiful classic results: a touch of vintage style, a touch of femininity, and all comfy cozy.
Follow the base pattern for a basic fingerless glove, or choose one of the customization options for a look that’s just your style with either simple edging with one or 2 buttons, or a more feminine look with a little ruffled accent.
Gloves reach to mid forearm for warmth. The type of stitching used makes these gloves super stretchy to accommodate lots of sizes, but is easily adjustable for size and length.
Materials Needed:
~ fingering weight yarn. 350-400 yards
Knit Picks Stroll sock yarn
~ 2 - 4 buttons
~ Hook: F / 3.75
~ Yarn needle
Pattern Notes:
~Right/Left:
Right and left gloves are the same.
~ Right Side/Wrong Side:
Main body of mitt is worked from the RS. Since the cuff is folded down, the RS of the cuff is opposite of the main body of mitt.
~ Foundation Single Crochet:
I highly recommend using FSC as your base. This creates a stretchier bottom cuff than working into a chain. If you haven’t used this type of stitch before, I urge you to learn it! It can be tricky to master but once you learn it, it comes in very handy for many projects. I’ve included instructions on the last page and helpful videos are available online.
~ Sizing and Alterations:
This fingerless glove is easy to customize in both style and size. As written, one glove measures 9 inches long from base of fingers to mid forearm, and should fit a wrist/arm 6 - 10 inches around.
